Amala (Mobile App) — Privacy Policy

4. Marketing communications
We will only send you advertising or marketing material with your prior written consent, as required by the PDPL. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link, your in-app settings, or by contacting support@amala.om. We will still send you essential service messages (such as login codes and account or security notices).
5. How we share your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:
- With Agencies — when you choose to contact an Agency or enquire about a Worker, the information you provide for that purpose is shared with the relevant Agency so they can respond. Each Agency is an independent controller of the data it receives and is responsible for its own use of that data.
- With service providers — trusted providers who help us operate the App (for example, cloud hosting, email/SMS delivery, and analytics), acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- For legal reasons — where required by law, court order, or a competent authority of the Sultanate of Oman, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- In a business transfer — if Amala or Tarmeez SPC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred subject to this Policy.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside the Sultanate of Oman. Where we transfer personal data abroad, we will, in accordance with the PDPL, ensure an adequate level of protection and obtain your express consent where required, and we will take reasonable steps to keep your data secure.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, or for as long as required by Omani law. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
8. Your rights
Subject to the PDPL, you have the right to: be informed; access your data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data where applicable; withdraw consent at any time; object to or restrict certain processing (including direct marketing); data portability; and complain to the regulator (see section 10).
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@amala.om. We will respond within the period required by the PDPL (within 45 days of your request, unless a different period applies). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Security and children
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure storage of authentication credentials. No system is completely secure, but we review our measures regularly. If a personal-data breach affecting you occurs, we will notify the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) and affected individuals as required by the PDPL.
Amala is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child's data has been provided to us, contact support@amala.om and we will delete it.
10. The regulator, changes, and contact
The PDPL is supervised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) of the Sultanate of Oman. If you have a concern, please contact us first at support@amala.om; you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the MTCIT.
We may update this Policy from time to time and will post the updated version in the App with a new "Last updated" date. For any question about this Policy or your personal data:
